Could you be more specific?  Are you getting any error messages?  What files are you trying to move.....the program files or the .rrt layout files?   Have you installed RR-Track on the new computer and moved the .RRT track files onto it?  If you didshould be able to open them by naviagting to whatever directory you put them into from the RR=Track open dialog.

There are some very cheap kits that allow you to take your old hard drive and connect it up to your new computer via a USB port. I bought one off eBay for like 7 bucks. The kits are based on what type of drive you want to 'convert' (IDE to USB or SATA to USB). That particular info will be on the data label on the hard drive.

If you can get the two machines close enough to each other - you won't have to take the drive out of the old machine. Just connect the kit directly to the drive.

Boot the new computer up first, then connect your old hard drive via a USB cable to the new computer. You will be able to browse every folder/file of your old drive on the new machine since the permissions should be controlled by the new OS.

From there, you can open RRtrack (still need to install it first!) -and then open the file you want, then do a Save As... and re-save the file to a location on the new computer.

I used one of these kits on my last rebuild and it was a whole lot easier than a jump drive.

Oh! one more thing....if you do remove the old drive...save it. With the kit above, you can always use it as an external back up drive.

A couple Notes:

I would absolutely NOT use this method if you suspect a virus of any sort on your old machine.

You must install all your programs to your new machine.

UPDATE:  In six months...prices have jumped a bit. This kit works for IDE and/or SATA..
