I tend to run them more. Here in Hotlanta it gets a little intense some days.  My first outside act of the day in the summer is to go out to the train room (separate building) and crank up the AC.  Then when it gets to hot for me to work outside, I go into the train room and work for a few hours.  Great way to spend a summer afternoon.

I usually run them a little more often.  I have more free time, possibly more opportunities to set my carpet central up in a room I use more often in the house.  I get bored a lot easier during my summer break from school so I usually mess around with the trains quite a bit to stay busy.  Otherwise I spend a lot of time outside and enjoy the weather (as long as it's not too hot)

I need to find more time for live steam.  I keep telling my wife I need to put in a line to haul downed trees to the burn pile.  She hasn't bought in yet.

I run mine whenever I can.  I actually had 3 engines (Atlas GP9, MTH RK Imperial 0-6-0, MTH RK NW2) each pulling 2-car trains with cabeese (would that make them 3-car trains?) today, I was surprised the breaker on the Z750 didn't kick.  Maybe the breaker didn't kick because the engines were the only things that had power to them, the cabeese are not lighted.

If I have chores (or golf) do to during the day then I'll run a train at night.  I also got in a new magazine today and a Walthers catalog which kept to occupied for a while.
