And that is a 2002 price!!! Escalated to 2016 It would be over $3k. It sure is a nice engine, I wish I could run it on my layout but I doubt it would track on 30" radius curves or non scale turnouts.
I don't know about $3000, their current 2-8-4 they're taking orders for is an axle short, but still "only" $2299.00. I imagine if they did another 2-10-4, it would be under $2500.
I agree, they have done a great job in keeping prices of new releases "low." I was referring to the value of a dollar someone would spend in 2002 versus 2016.
