The people of Cincinnati, Ohio spoke and they did not elect Ms  Yvette Simpson as their mayor.  They elected the same Mayor who is running the town today and he is very hostile to the streetcar.  This means most likely Phase 2 of the Cincinnati Bell Connector Streetcar will most likely not get built, at least for the next 4 years.

Phase 2 of the Cincinnati Bell Streetcar would of cost over  200 million dollars.  And the mind set of most Cincinnatians is negative to the streetcar.  The only way we will ever get the streetcar extension built would be by Federal Money and now that President OBama is gone, it seems highly unlikely that President Trump will support Mass Transportation Bills.

The only way we will probably ever get the Phase 2 of the Streetcar is by the private sector.  Cincinnati has some very big companies that may invest in the streetcar -- such as the following:

1.  Cincinnati is home to The Kroger (grocery) Company

2.  Proctor & Gamble's home base is Cincinnati, Ohio

3. CVS and Walgreens have many stores in Cincinnati, Ohio

4. Many discount stores such as Walmart, Sams, Cosco, etc are here

5.  Many eateries, bars, etc are in Cincinnati, Ohio

6.  GE has some office and plants in Cincinnati, Ohio

Here is hoping that several of these companies step in and support our streetcar....sincerely yours     railbear01

For the most part, the street car experiment has been a bust in Cincinnati. It looked as if all candidates put more emphasis on improving the bus system first....both mayoral candidates and also city council candidates. This article from Oct 31 in the Cincinnati Enquirer basically states that the street car was not even an issue compared to the last election. No one wanted to spend more tax payer money for something marginally successful.
