All. Please consider ordering from Scale Trains, hoping they receive sufficient interest to invest in our wonderful hobby. It would be great, if we showed as a group, support for the firm. I believe  the deadline has been extended for this first run. (The preorder text is no longer present) I have ordered 4 cars and ask you to consider ordering just 1, if you can. The firm looks to be a high quality one. Interestingly, the ETA looks like it has been moved up to July 31st. Best. Mike

I was able to place an order very early this morning and have received confirmation email from Scale Trains.  It may still be possible to place an order.

This is great. I agree it is likely the firm will take orders after the deadline and encourage all who didn't have a chance to order, take the opportunity now. I would think if we got the numbers, they would add to the order. I would think if we were close to the number, late orders would be accepted and help make it work. Hoping we made it. Mike

Mike, here are my thoughts an Scale Trains and S gauge. I believe Scale Trains is determined to be successful in S. These hoppers will likely be made regardless of the presale number. They will inventory the balance. ST is preselling only through their site. When they get retailers signed up, hopefully stores like Charles Ro and Des Plaines Hobbies, there will be a lot more sales.

The two roadnames I ordered are the same two I purchased from the last MTH run. I will now have four different numbers of the two roadnames. Lionel figured this out several years ago. They began making hoppers in sets of five different road numbers and fools like me bought five car sets (rather than just one or two cars) in multiple road names.

Thinking back, when MTH purchased S Helper I ordered a couple of the reefers that were offered, hoping to encourage more production, than our club ordered our S Fest reefers from MTH. The reefers I ordered showed up in a reasonable time but, our Fest cars were 3-31/2 years late. I am hoping that Scale trains will be better than that.

The Fest cars after all were very well done and worth the wait but, a decision was made not to order club cars from them again.

BSG would not again make our patrons wait for their cars.

Tom. Great. Hoping for the best. My concern, among many, is that without Charles Ro and other retailers purchasing / ordering now, the numbers may not be robust enough for their investment. Again, hoping for the best. Mike

I have all  the hoppers I need so I will pass. I will buy track and turnouts when and if they get around to producing some.

Gunny

Gunny. Very much understand. I really didn't need these hoppers also, but was trying to support this new firm and seeking hopefully their future investment in track , turnouts and other products.  As an aside, SHS track for me is the best. And I will say the hoppers shown look great and will pop on our layout. Hoping for the best. Mike

Ray. Understand. And that wait is too long. If we make the minimum order, I believe delivery is scheduled for late August, which is pretty amazing if achieved. Hoping for the best. Mike

Two stupid "newbie" questions, Ray:   1) What is "S Fest," and 2) what is BSG?     Thank you, Ron

Ron,

Actually no question is stupid, stupidity is not asking when you don't know.

S Fest has been an annual event for S Gaugers, it was held and hosted by four S gauge club and rotated to each hosting club, St Louis, Chicago, Rockford area and Milwaukee. The BSG is the Badgerland S Gaugets the southeastern Wisconsin club.
