I had exactly the same thing happen to me......push-button activator got stuck and fried the plastic switch motor. Got in touch with Midge at MTH (via E-mail) and she sent me 2 brand new switch motors, one to replace the burnt-out one, and the other one to have as a spare. The cost for the two new switch motors was very low, it was the cost of the posting that was difficult to swallow.......but hey, I live in Australia (down-under), and they had to come a long way.

The replacement switch motor was easy to install, and has never given me any more trouble, but I did change out that stupid activating button for a more reliable "Atlas" button.

Hope this helps, but with the COVID-19 lock-down, and MTH in uncertain waters, getting the replacement switch motor may not be as easy as it was for me about 18 months ago.
