I am painting a number of things, mostly styrene plastics, with brushed on water based acrylic. I would like to know if there is a rattle can transparent spray coating that will not attack or remove the acrylic paint and yet make the end result sturdy enough to be handled.
I want to put a weathering, powders and graphite, over that spray and then seal it again.
So far I have had great success in making a terrific mess.

Ive used both testors and rustoleum clear coats over cheap tube acrylics and have not noticed any issues with it coming off.

I don't suppose I could borrow the little girl you're holding. My dog loves kids and needs a friend to romp with. 
I've had success with Krylon Matte spray as well. Not as flat as Dullcote, but acceptable.
Got some Krylon, too. Tomorrow is laboratory (work shop) experimenting day.
