If you want to search within the forum page you are viewing at the time, you can do that in your web browser. Press the Control Key and the letter "F" at the same time. This will being up a search window within your browser that will only search whatever page you are on.

I don't know how you would use the search function to search through only a single thread.

I can often find specific things in a multi-page thread by using Google.  Here's how:

In the Google search window,

  1. type ogr, space, then next to that
  2. Paste the exact OGR forum topic title, space
  3. then type the word you want to find in the thread
  4. The first result is usually spot on (the exact page in a long thread). Open that link
  5. Using the your browser's "Find on Page" function (described by Rich) [Ctrl + F] type the word you're looking for.

For Example I if wanted to see the details of using styrofoam in @Mark Boyce's Blackwater Canyon build thread "Blackwater Canyon Line - December 17, 2021 - Wiring Finished, What's Next?" where he was recently talking about using styrofoam in his scenery work.

So the Google search would be "ogr Blackwater Canyon Line - December 17, 2021 - Wiring Finished, What's Next? styrofoam"

Thanks for the suggestions Rich and Steve.  I'll use Steve's technique for now.  Rich, I wonder if this might be a feature the forum developers might consider in the future.  Seems like it might be a handy built in capability to have, searching within a multi page thread.

Thanks for following up with me.
