Is there a way to search for specific items that I may be looking for? The reason I ask is that there are over 3,000 items on the for sale forum and it would be easier to do a search for what you are looking for.

Choose the right key words and it may help. There is no index by part or item number, if that's what you are asking.
Yes, that is what I am asking. It would be much easier to put in an item number instead of searching through 3,000 plus items. Just my opinion.
Use the "Advanced Search" feature, which enables you to search individual forums (which I just learned myself). It helps searchers a lot if posters use fully descriptive text in their posts.

The only way the part number would get into the forum is if the SELLER posted it with his item. There is no "master database" of all model railroad products posted as part of this forum.

It would be nice if the Search feature could be used to search a forum once you're in that particular forum, like the For Sale forum for example.
I know I can go to Advanced Search and do it that way, but since I'm already in the For Sale forum, it would cut down on some key strokes if there was a search box already open. In the other forums it's not that big a deal to me, but when I'm looking to see if someone has a Seaboard item for sale, it would make things quicker.
