Hi everyone,

I was just in the Seattle area and thought I would check out the train shops in the area.  I saw a Lionel Diesel engine I wanted that has been listed on Eastside Train's website for a while.  So I made the trip over to purchase it.  Turns out they didn't have the engine in stock - they apparently use a separate system for the store as their main one.  Well the store has a lot of stock, nothing too interesting, and it was kind of a disappointment.  So I next tried out The Electric Train Shop in Burien, WA.  Wow, what an interesting store.  Lots of post-war stuff and some new stuff as well.  But lots of uncommon interesting stuff as well.  But the best part was the owner who welcomed me right away and talked about stuff going on in the store.  I saw an old Coal Ramp and loader accessory and thought that might be neat to have since I don't have any large accessories.  He took them out of the glass display case, hooked them up, showed me how they worked, talked about the history and how they were made and how they can be maintained.  Wow, needless to say he made a sale that day.  I couldn't carry them home on the plane, so he said he would mail them to me.  A few days later I received a very carefully packaged set of boxes with tissue, bubble wrap, and paper to make sure the delicate ramp and loader arrived safely.  That's service.  If you're ever in Burien or Seattle, I highly recommend The Electric Train Shop!

Great Train shop if you ever get a chance! I lived 3 blocks away from them when the moved to Burien, man did that kill my wife! LOL It was a nice walk there and sometimes I would have a nice stack of things to carry back. GN MAN is right Scott is a great guy to talk with and really knows his stuff! Wish I still lived near there!

I agree fully. I was surprised to see the place not long ago. I'd never gone as I thought it was only a 3-rail shop, but I was at an event very close by. When I went, I was shocked at how good a old-school hobby shop it was. I bought a lot of stuff for good prices.

Nice people there, too.

Will certainly go back there the next time I'm in the Seattle area!

Not "Van Burien", just Burien

BTW, for you guys here in the Pacific NW both the Boeing model RR swap meet in Kent and the GTE show in Puyallup happen this coming weekend.  The Electric Train Shop (Scott) usually attends the Puyallup shows.

My gosh, am I losing it or what.  I must have President on the brain.  Ok, I updated the name again.
