WTB:

Former co-worker of mine looking to buy a 1  1/2' to 2' section of rail to use as an anvil for his many recent retiree tinkering projects.  Frank will pick it up but must be within a reasonable drive from the DC Metro area.  E-mail me (see my profile) and I'll pass info on to him.

thanks, -Mike

I got a small piece of rail when I was working as an outside contractor at a steel mill here in Pittsburgh.  I mentioned it to a couple of steel workers early in the morning, and at the end of the day, they found me and presented with a twelve inch section, cut and polished and ready for use.  I have used it for many years and it works good for small jobs around the house.  I have never subjected it to heavy use because I never had the need. And, it looks pretty cool on top of the work bench.
