I own two Lionel TMCC equipped, dual Pullmor motored Canadian Pacific F3 engines.  The first is the powered 'A' unit from CP set 6-21759 (1999) and the other is the matching powered 'B' unit 6-14564 released in 2002.  The problem is that from Day 1 the motors of the two units are out of sync, such that the 'A' is literally dragging the "B' unit.

Neither engine has the Odyssey speed control and since I always run in Command mode I assigned each of them with an ID of #1. Also, I operate with a CAB-1 - not CAB-2.

In an attempt to resolve the 'out of sync' problem I tried altering the Momentum by setting one engine at 'High' and the other at 'Low', but that didn't correct the problem.

Recently someone told me I should try using TMCC's 'Stall' feature. As a result, my question is whether Stall will resolve the incompatibility issue.  If so, I'd also appreciate a step-by-step process of how I do it.

Ideally I'd like to be able to run the ABBA consist together with the eight (8) matching aluminum passenger cars.

Lastly, if setting different Stall voltages for each engine is the solution, would I have to reset it each time I run the engines or is it retained in memory?

Thanks CentralFan1976 for providing the info (particularly your video) to 'get me over the hump' so to speak. It was much appreciated.

Although GRJ (whose opinion I respect very much) had expressed doubts that this would remedy the 'out of sync motor' issue I was experiencing with Lionel's AC open frame motors on the TMCC equipped powered pair of my PWC CP F3s - each of which are dual-motored - I was pleasantly surprised that adjusting the 'Stall' setting resolved the problem; and the engines have been running together fine ever since.

Incidentally, just so you know for future reference, no Pullmor-motored engines have speed control. Lionel never developed this for AC motors, for various technical reasons.

Glad this topic came up. I made a copy for future reference. I'll be running two Pullmor-motored engines together in the future, and this solution will be good to know.

breezinup - Thanks for the additional info.

By the way, since my OP I've also discovered a helpful video (on You Tube) that Mike Reagan did - while he was at Lionel - which you may also want to check out.  Sorry, I'm not very good with computers and don't know how to provide you with a direct link but it's entitled "Lionel TMCC1 Stall, Momentum and Maximum Speed Instructional Video" if you want to view it.  I've made a note of that one too for future reference.
