It was a great meeting, enjoyed meeting people face to face that I had seen only on the Forums, and seeing everyone else I know, as well as the neat “show and tell” items people brought.

Glad to hear SGMA apparel will go on sale in a few weeks, and it was neat to see the huge photo Wayne had of the 2019 SGMA B&O coal hopper which is almost ready for order taking, I also saw the plans Chris had for the big WGH layout in January in Oaks, Pa., looks like great layout, can’t wait.

The SGMA breakfast meeting has become part of my York routine. Next time I plan on also going to the Ives meeting at noon on Friday.

Good job Kirk, Wayne and Chris!

What a great meeting and a great York. So good to see so many of you at the meeting and during York. Started Weds night at Russ McFall's (wow), and continued through Friday. A side trip to the foundry yielded the cast parts for the next few engines, a stop at Hennings yielded the parts and motors for same. Dallas from Dallee provided a box of his wonderful electronic reversing units (my standard now).  Picked up a single Randall combine, beautifully painted in PRSL. A few other goodies, two sheets of REAL tinplate metal from Dave Wallace (yes, tin plated steel). Bunch of other parts pieces and an MTH 437 tower - cheap.

Got enough work to keep me building until next York or longer!

The Shay and Royal Hudson were made by Frank Read, probably in the late 70's. He passed around 2000. He lived in White Center, WA and was a draftsman at Boeing. He supposedly did some drawing work for the McCoys. His custom Std Gauge creations used a lot of McCoy parts. When his family sold off his creations early last year, I got all of them but one from the buyer. There were 5 total. The buyer kept a General type loco for his own collection. The two I did not bring are a futuristic Std Gauge streamline loco and dummy unit and an O gauge futuristic streamline loco and five coaches.

As a charter member of SGMA, if anyone took some photos of the SGMA members present at the breakfast, please post them here as I would like to see how many original members are still around and kicking!

I am planning to attend the next SGMA breakfast at York and hopefully at that time will be able to display my new Olympian Hiawatha cars by Jim Waterman.  Jim said he should have the consist finished by next Spring and we agreed that he should post some progress photos on this forum.  So look for them here.

The cars should be quite unique as they are going to be based on original floor plans, side elevations and drawings of the Olympian Hiawatha cars that I obtained from The Milwaukee Road Archives and from the Milwaukee Road Historical Association.
