Wanted to thank the gentlemen at Train Town in St. Louis. First day open from quarantine. Picked up a Frisco 6464 box car, a 6452 operating milk car, a MOPAC pick-up truck and a couple of UCS tracks and controllers. A very reasonable price for all and the advice on repair. They all needed minor repair and cleaning, but that's the fun of shopping on the "lower shelves". Low cost purchase, a bit of clean up, re-wiring, solder a few broken connections and a great afternoon of working on trains.

My local haunt. The folks that run TrainTown are fans of traditional Lionel Prewar and postwar. Grandfather, fathers, and sons. Nice guys and ALWAYS willing to tell a story!
I endorse Train Town also. I think we're lucky to have that store.
I'm into modern O and modern std gauge so frankly most of their inventory is not my cup of tea. However, it's still tough to walk out empty handed. And don't let the store's small size fool you. The first time I visited, I was disappointed because it looks so small from the outside (and it is). In fact, because it's so small, Train Town may be the only train store I've visited that has no layout. That's right, there's no room for a layout. Instead, the store is packed floor to ceiling with trains. Train Town has more inventory than a store twice its size and they frequently get new stuff.
It's mostly prewar and postwar but there is some modern Atlas/Lionel/MTH in the back room. If you are in the area, you definitely need to visit this store.
Some of my best Lionel pieces have come from them. I try to stop by every few weeks. Always helpful and very fair. They way they treat me you'd think I'd been a lifelong shopper.
How long have they been there? My job used to send me to St. Louis so l tried to find every shop..one of which closed then..lt has been a while!
They were in a different location on Manchester Road years ago. They've been at the current location (still on Manchester, just further west) since at least 2017 but I don't know the exact date they moved.

Mike, I saw you sent me an email and I deleted the darn thing on accident. I hate to ask but could you resend me that message? Or just email me again.
Everything I have bought from there worked great, almost my entire collection. Great people to deal with.
This a great shop in spite of its small size. Every time I am in St. Louis I stop at Train Town on my way to the Museum of Transportation. Pat B.
