Green Luxury Lines

I put together this battery LionChief Beep together for Cuesta college to use for a play production they were running.  They did not want to deal with track power and wanted something easy for the actors to set up and run.

Their school colors are green, so I painted the engine green for them.

Looks like the only green on my layout, other than the 200 pine trees, is the green anti-glare paint in front of the windshield on a Union Pacific F7A and a green Lionel operating milk car.

My green motive power in order of preference follows:    1:  Lionel Classic scale GG1 in Brunswick Green with Cat’s whiskers.  My favorite GG1 paint scheme.                    2:  More Brunswick Green GG1s with Cat’s whiskers but in semi-scale.   From front to rear-Lionel post-war 2332 with faded stripes, Lionel conventional classic 2332 and finally an early MTH GG1.                                                     3:  Lionel MPC era Southern FM Train Master followed  by a Lionel Trains Inc. Pennsylvania Train Master.

I have to say, that at the same time I am focused on 3rail scale passenger trains, these Williams 027 cars are one of a few beloved trains that will never leave my collection.  I really cannot explain it.  Perhaps the nostslgia of the postwar trains.  Perhaps simplicity and fun.  Maybe these are the "comfort food" of toy trains.  I cannot say for sure.

Vintage Williams Burlington Northern F7 A-B-A pulling Menards BN ore cars trailed by a custom Lionel Bay window BN caboose.

There are lots of beautiful green steamers and diesels shown in beautiful ways this St. Patrick’s Day weekend. I have a green CXST Switcher and some other green train items I’ll show later. Happy St. Patrick’s Da weekend to all.

I agree with you. I cannot envision ever moving to 3RS due to space and budgetary constraints (still have two more weddings and one more to put through college) but even if I did, I'd hang onto some of the PW classics or replicas. I added the 2-pack of WBB's to my grandfather's gray set of these O27s, gave my B&O O27s to my son-in-law with an early TMCC loco, and added (after much searching) Williams NKP Alco FAs and 4-pack of O27 passenger cars.

At some point, I'll have to add these green O27 passenger cars. They look too good not to have on my non-scale layout.

I've only got two. A Chicago & Northwestern E4 Hudson and a Duluth, Missabe, & Iron Range M3 Yellowstone.

The locomotive is a EMD E8 A-B-A Made by MTH

it has PS3 and was made around 2015 I believe.
