SHS 2-8-0

Thanks Roger, I'll give them a try.  My owners manual tells me it should have smoke and there does seem to be a smoke chamber, but it could be like yours... there but not really.  Also, there were no smoke supplies in the box like the manual indicated so it sounds like it probably doesn't have smoke.

Interesting.  Now I'm wondering if my 2-8-0 is supposed to have smoke or not.

Without tearing it apart, is there a way to figure it out?

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the info.  I’m glad it’s not a malfunction, but smoke would have been nice.  I’m not sure why Don would think that DC operators wouldn’t want smoke. One just has to look at the AM steamers to get some smoke and Choo-Choo in a DC locomotive.  Then again, the Y3 won’t smoke on DC, so maybe it’s AM who has it wrong…
