Adrian Tang acquired a Shuco Disney-Alweg monorail and a large quantity of track. Being very creative, he engineered (pun intended) a control system that includes station stops, speed up/slow down operation at the station stops (stations to be built later), and self-parking when not in use. Here's the video:

Here's the staging track. Adrian is looking at having it rotate between two trains. The red one is EXTREMELY rare and is from Adrian's personal collection.

Very Cool!  That model moves a little more swiftly than the more recent toy monorails they sell in the parks.

As you mentioned, pretty rare to find.  I cant imagine reasonably expecting to find enough track to make a decent loop (even if I wasn't looking for turnouts), even if I could find a train for sale someday.
