Anyone have experience with this brand of smoke fluid? How do the smoke clouds it make compare in volume/density to those from the other popular brands - Lionel's Premium, MTH's Proto Smoke, and JT's Mega Steam?  Have you encountered any adverse or harmful effects to smoke units related to using it? Also do your engines' smoke units  need to be refilled with it sooner than  other brands you use? Have you noticed it leaving any residue on engines, cars, or scenery? Thanks.

I have used it alot. Its by far a lot more smoke than JTs or Lionel.  The scent is not as fowl as the Lionel Premium, but obviously not nearly as pleasant as the various JT flavors.

No harm on any of the components. I don't have a sense of smell, so it makes no difference to me. My wife on the other hand prefers something with a nice scent.

The key to any smoke unit is having enough smoke fluid in it for maximum effects, and not burning up the resistor or batting. 1 properly operating smoke unit on max, will smoke you right out of the room.

I have used almost every smoke fluid offering on the market including Lionel's and MTH's brand in all my engines. I have even used LGB's smoke fluid in Weaver, Atlas, MTH, Lionel and RMT engines. I have a wide range of smoke from JT (like the various smells including the Christmas versions) and Mega-Steam. I really don't see much difference in performance. If you max the smoke buttons you get a nice plume. The on thing I do every 3 months or so is use some of Mega-Steam's Eliminator Smoke Fluid as it is a special "treatment" for smoke units that helps eliminate bad odors. It seems to work and also I find it cleans the smoke unit nicely.

I just follow the manufacturer directions of no more than 15 ~ 20 drops in the smoke unit then I run it until their is very little smoke being produced.

Well if you have seen my videos on smoke fluid, then you would realize that 15-20 drops in a dry smoke unit, is not going to achieve max smoke results. If your smoke unit is FULL of fluid, you will notice a difference in smoke output. Even Lionel Premium puts out more smoke than JT's, but it smells so fowl.

Sure you'll get some smoke from any of the different brands of fluid, but with only 15-20 drops in an engine that has been sitting for any length of time, you'll get some burnt batting more than anything.

Once you burn the batting, your smoke unit performance is greatly affected. Not enough fluid is the biggest cause of burnt batting. Many people run there engines around not even realizing their smoke unit is on, and dry.
