Welcome Aboard!

I agree with Joe about the need to stagger the joints, especially on the curves.  I found that additional  spiking against the rail and or gluing down the ties at the joints on the curves is helpful. I did this on our club's modular layout and it has kept the curves nice and smooth over many years and moves.

Thanks for the warm welcome.. glad to be here! Could you elaborate on what you mean by the joints.. the points at which the tracks meet or the actual rails? Also does your modular layout use the traditional gargraves pins or another method. I've found that the traditional pins leave a large gap in the rails.
