Some modifications to a BLI C-16 2-8-0 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

The BLI C-16 2-8-0 is a nice little locomotive and a smooth runner out of the box. The first thing I did was change the tender coupler to a Kadee On3 at On3 height to match my rolling stock.

BLI used a high side tender to fit its DCC electronics My understanding is only a few locos had these high sided tenders.

The tall tender just didn’t look right so I modified the tender deck by grinding away certain part so I could attach a Bachmann 2-8-0 tender shell. I also removed the stock electronics and installed a Tsunami system.

The stock Bachmann coal insert that came with the tender shell was also removed and a real load of coal installed.

I will have the tender lettered for the Port Anne Western Railroad in future.
