WOW!!! That is just spectacular Joe. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and drove/walked under the McDonald Avenue El (Culver Line) and the 86th Street El - not to mention riding on the various subway lines that ran on those El's over the years - countless times over my years in the borough. Your work is so realistic that I almost think they are photos of actual street scenes. As Sam mentioned above, the lighting is absolutely perfect - I felt like I was walking past the old Benson Theater on 86th off 20th avenue. Well done 👍 👍👍👍

Thanks guys for your collective posted comments and your appreciation of my newest photos on my layout -- it is appreciated by me !

C SAM -- I will check the model of the vintage car for you and get back to you here 

PS -- I do have some modern era (heh "now vintage" also) autos (1950's thru 70's) to display with more modern rolling stock and buses for the street under the EL as NY trolleys in Manhattan & Bronx / Yonkers were gone between late 1946 thru 1952 (1950 end in Bronx,  1952 end in Yonkers) And gone in Brooklyn by end of 1956.

Nah -- the kid didn't have too much egg nog --- the GOO had too much ether-solvent and when it gets hot,  it gets soft !

PS - I have to PAINT that Fire Hydrant with flat red paint -- closeup photos will always show you all the tiny errors and shiny "production  plastic' original finish things stand out --- almost looks like it is glowing !.  And I'll fix the kid with cement shoes !

Thanks also -- I always hoped my work would serve as some form of inspiration and motivation to other who suffer the affliction we small group have.  Your "modifications" to MTH subway cars are also quite realistic and excellently done.  Of course, its not the look and era I want to remember as I grew up in it.  But your Graff work is outstanding and with sharp, crisp and clean graphics and artistry !   And realistic weathering also !  Have to pose a few of those, your subway cars,  on the layout to "christen" my layout - heh !

You have the skills to do modeling work like me. Of course I expect it will be 70's 80's era scenes with model subway cars,. stations,  and buses covered with GRAFF for period realism of those times.

It was good seeing you again at our Mass Transit Meet this past Nov. 4th-

Hello again C Sam

 OK-- I just checked and that vintage automobile is a 1931 Stutz Bearcat !!  Figured I would take some different photos views of it for you.

Here are some vintage period photos of it with a single truck Third Ave Railway System streetcar I hand built about 30 years ago !

The Stutz has just left the shadows the the EL tracks and EL structure as the passing TARS trolley is about to enter into the EL's shadows.

ADDITIONALLY,   in the 3rd & 4th photos below -- that black car at the left of the Stutz is a 1931 Rolls Royce Phantom

Here BELOW are some more modern and lesser (heh) vintage era images after "removal" of the trolleys to be replaced by 1950's -60's era buses

Hope you enjoy these photos -- nice to have some scenes OUTSIDE from under the shadows of the EL, heh !

It definitely does! I appreciate all the kind words and sopport from you,Steve,Nate and Jan it means alot to me. And yes my layout will will capture the late 70's early 80's era. Unfortunately that's the time I grew up and remember the most...lol I'd be humbled to be able to pose a few of my cars on your layout. I appreciate the opportunity to display them and thanx again for everything u guys have done for me. Also I have a few other 1 of a kind cars I'm working on so I hope to have them finished in the next few months. Take care

This is absolutely the finest modeling work I have ever seen. My dad worked in Borough Park after WW2 but we did not live in Brooklyn. Is the model McDonald Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue, prototypical buildings or freelanced? Just beautiful! Would like to see pictures of the entire layout. Thank you.

Well, if you are speaking about the two that are the subject of the (my) photos above -- the Green & White  one is a 1:48 Scale MATCHBOX  "Models Of Yesteryear"  1931 Stutz Bearcat - model # T-14  1931 -- All diecast metal body,  made in England

The Black model alongside the Stutz  is a 1:48 Scale YATMING brand  1931 Rolls Royce Phantom - model # 8504 all diecast metal body

My automobiles come from various sources -- Matchbox,  Yatming,  Ertl,  Solido, and a few other model maker mfg's  I can't now recall at this moment.

Joe, Your modeling and photographs are great!  I love the brick streets and other details.  The sunlight shining through all the spaces in the EL really give it the correct mood!  Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Mark for these and previous nice comments from you when viewing my various model work photos. !!

Go to a hardware store - or Lowes, Home depot,  whatever,  and get a 150 Watt CLEAR incandescent (with filament)  light Bulb --- put it in a  work light bulb socket that has a unit mounting spring type clamp device --- then  turn the lights out ( or the majority of them) in your train layout room and light that bulb (extension cord likely needed to nearest ceiling or wall outlet)  -- and see the shadows you get (aka like sunlight) on your layout as you move the bulb around about 3 to 4 feet above the layout  !! 

ALSO,  when you take digital photos with a good digital camera,  make sure your settings for the "White Balance" level  (if said camera is sophisticated enough to have such programs / settings)  are set for INCANDESCENT lighting mode -- so your  images will not have a slight reddish-yellow hue to them caused by the incandescent lamp main lighting..  There you have it !
