When laying out the R.R. C/L around obstacles, multiple templates are so helpful as you can telescope the curved ends and tangent ends to fine tune position a well situated right of way. No trammel or flex stick, done quick and easy.
Just because you can draw a track plan does not mean the right of way will fit correctly.
These will help prevent cheating or fudging on your curves. Transitions help tenders, short wheel base cars and long wheel base cars with body mounted couplers handle curves properly.
The side rails for the router bearing is premium knot free solid lath trim.
The "T"/"SE" denote end of tangent and start of easement.
The "X" marks denote staple locations of the stiff flooring underlay hard core plywood.
The templates use John Armstrong's recommended easement length of1/2 the radius centered on the theoretical end of the curve with the "X" offset for the radius involved.
