Sept 4 is so called "Force Friday" where they are releasing toys for the new Star Wars movie. They are doing this at 12:01 so in effect this is Thursday night. The Toys R Us in Times Square is making a big to do about this. They have made some displays of vintage toys through out the store and one of the cases has a sealed "Escape from the Death Star" slot car set made by Lionel MPC. Besides the Christmas 1977 boxcar with R2D2 on it I think this is the only Lionel made Star Wars toy. Kind of neat to see. There is even a small descriptive blurb about Lionel in the case.

I think the Lionel Star Wars racing set is fairly scarce. I think that I have only seen one in all these years.
