Steel Cable in O Gauge/Scale.

I am trying to simulate Steel Cables in O Scale. I am attempting to use this to simulate tying down a load to a flat car (Lionel PS-4). I was thinking about using music wire. Its pretty hard. So I would not have to tighten it in anyway.

I was thinking about using somewhere around .020" diameter. Is that close to O gauge?

If anyone has any better suggestions I am open to them.
