Just thought I would post this. The Virtual Railfan Youtube Channel has set up a railcam at Strasburg where you can watch the daily trains and NW 611 in September/October. It currently has 900 people watching.

A bit off the subject. This is a great camera sight with the Pennsylvania Railroad museum next door as well. How do they move the Engines from the "Day with Thomas" to the various sights around the country for the other shows?  I tried on line but no results.

I believe the Thomas used at Strasburg is owned by the Strasburg Railroad.  I saw it inside one of the sheds on my last visit to Strasburg in 2015.  Not sure about Percy.

One of the moderators on the webcam this afternoon noted they plan to add a second webcam out next to the Amtrak Harrisburg line before the 611 events this fall.

The “Pennsylvania Railroad Museum” does not exist. That is the “Railroad Museum of PA.” And when they move Thomas, they load him onto a flatbed truck with rails on it. I have seen it before and it’s quite strange to see going down the road. There are a few videos on YouTube of it. There are also many MANY copies of the locomotive, most inoperable and a “dummy” like Percy.

Too bad the camera is not set up at the Cherry Hill crossing. That is where the engine is really putting out smoke. Glad they did this, and the zoom and pan feature is nice (although someone has to control it). My favorite is Ashland, VA because you can see the town in action while waiting for the trains. You can also video the train you are on (NE Regional to VA, 2 Silver" trains to Florida, the Palmetto, and the Auto Train) by recording your passing from your laptop (I did this twice).
