I have to agree with Boilermaker. I was looking for striping for parking spaces as well as road stripes and I went with the suggestion of auto pinstriping. Here is the thread where it was discussed... I got mine from Amazon since there aren’t any decent auto parts stores in my neck of the woods.

Here is a shot of the installed stripes.

Scott;

Rich makes a good point about the roughness of the street material. I used smooth black foam sheets, so the striping adhered well. I checked my Amazon orders and here is what I ordered (the second item is a double yellow line).

Trimbrite T1110 1/8 Pinstripe Tape White

Universal TFX 0003145 - Auto Customizing Dual Pinstripe - 3/16" x 150' (1/16” Stripe, 1/16" Gap, then 1/16” Stripe) - 145-Canary Yellow

I've had some success using the single ply of toilet paper.  I needed something that would adhere to and follow the contours of the grit from the small scale ballast I used to simulate the asphalt I used for my roads.  After separating the ply of the toilet paper and cutting it into narrow strips, I soaked it in a combo of white Elmers glue and water and carefully laid them in place.  While still wet I used a Q-tip also soaked in the same combo of glue and water to work it down into the grooves.  crossing16crossing17crossing26

Back when I had a small O layout I masked off the road and used Testor's model paints to do my stripes.  Gave nice clean edges.  Being you have a textured surface that probably won't work as well, nor the pin stripeing.  That TP idea sounds like a winner.  Maybe add some yellow dye to the glue mixture to get yellow lines.
