Did some work on this little one that I thought was worth sharing. Upgraded all of the handrails and grabs, the Atlas ones are ridiculous. I also added finer windshield wipers, brake lines, correct lift bars, weathered the couplers and wheels. Not a perfect job, but a decent improvement over the original engine.

Due the incorrect position of the fuel tank, I chose not to model the after-cooling piping. I’ll tackle that at some point, too much on my plate right now.

A nice engine. Enjoy the pictures and video!

Outstanding work Santiago!  One more thing that really helps complete the realism is laser cut flush window inserts. I think they were from Chooch (might have been Tichy?). I haven't seen them in a while but I did put a set on a SOO SW1200 (that I ended up trading for a TH&B or I'd post a pic). It made a huge difference to the "thin-wall look" of the cab.

Keep up the excellent work - you are an inspiration to me.

Thank you  The Atlas SW series has a  very good horizontal motor that does well even in older models without any speed control.   First available around 1998 with Dallee Electronics in three rail, then in the early 2000 some of the First TMCC electronics. Atlas has done the SW in many different roads.   I liked the custom handrails.

Horizontal motor.

nice youtube channel. do you have the new esu ecos hand held? do you like running your mth engines with the dcc system vrs mth's dcs system?

I don’t have the handheld. I used to have MTH engines and the dcs system, but sold them off. It’s a great system, and MTH engines were bullet proof as far as I’m concerned. They lacked the level of realism I’ve come to expect, tho.
