Substitute window "glass" for American Models HW passenger cars

First of all, the good news.  The silhouettes are printed on paper friction held between the "glass."

Now, the windows and roof are one piece clear plastic with the roof painted.  There are six tabs visible on the underside of the car that hold the roof/windows in place.  This is similar to the old method used by Rivarossi in HO.

And it doesn't come off easy.  Part of the problem is on the 4 end tabs, the slots are distorted from the knock out pins in the mold.  With a #11 blade in an Xacto knife, it's possible to "square off" these slots and make the assembly easier to remove.  You then need to get something stiff and thin placed between the tab lock and slot and slowly wiggle the roof off.  You may also have to trim the tab lock a little to move things along.
