Subway Platform transition to subway tunnel

Wel is your subway all underground? Or will it portray and Elevated?

The station has an end wall that extends almost the width of the platform. The platform itself usually extends into the tunnel at a greatly reduced width for use by maintenance workers- blocked off by some kind of gate to keep passengers from wandering into the tunnel area.

Wish I had photos like that 20 years ago when I built the tunnels. Nice shots!

Man, do I love subways. I wish MTH would keep more of the back designs in Proto 3 production, especially IRT and IND trains. But I'm happy I have what I have. Great photos and good luck OP with your project. I miss the City! :-)

Depends on the ERA. Search youtube for videos of early ny subways. Especially IRT.

Forty years ago many stations had no swinging gate. Just two foot of concrete platform with a ladder at the end to the tracks. The yellow rubber marks are also recent. The gates are idiotiic because they ensure the death of a passenger being dragged who is caught in the doors. They accomplish nothing

There is a video on the net of a man killed by one of these idiotic little swinging gates they have installed at the end of the platform. I do not intend to post the link. He is dragged. They should be removed.
