Suggested Height for mobile display

Am working on a mobile display...
Am trying to determine what would be the best height..
Background...
Average depth will be 36"..
3 Rail..
approximately 16x12
~~
30" table height ?
XX about the height of a kitchen sink.... ?
or 48" with risers for kids.... ?
~~
Am open .. and have seen them at various heights.. so just trying to get opinions and/or the whys.... based upon experience... (which I have none .. as far as displaying for the general public)

Low if the layout is geared for kids to watch.

High if kids are likely to touch and damage a high grade model.

And a fence 3 feet outside the layout to stop hands and arms from reaching layout.

Smaller the model scale the higher the layout needs to be, you never see a Z gauge floor layout.
