Have any of you replaced the sound set on the early PS2 PRR Atlantic? If so, what file? Based on recordings I have heard, and giving the benefit of the doubt, I guess the whistle is passable as a prr passenger whistle heard from a distance, but subjectively speaking, this is the only locomotive I own that I don't like the sounds of, including the chuff.

Pennsy484, I have that 5 volt Atlantic and love the file.  I keep it as is and just replaced the speaker.    I am surprised to read your post and sorry to hear you are unhappy with the sound.   Is your file nasty sounding that a speaker can cause?   I have a few Pennsylvania trains and that engine gets the assignment often as I love the chuff.   I network with some Pennsy guys and have never heard your complaint before.  If you do not care about the passenger sounds, you could try a few others that are available.  Last year, my good friend Locolawyer had his PS3 Atlantic at my house and when we compared sounds, the older 5 volt engine was much better than the PS3.  We ended putting another file in his PS3 locomotive.

Hi Marty, thanks for the reply.  The speaker is fine.  I guess really what I don't care for is the whistle.  I see what they were going for as it does sound like a prr whistle as heard from a distance, but it's kinda dull sounding and you can really hear the seam in the repeating segments.  I wouldn't mind experimenting  with it since I haven't ever replaced a sound file, but I just don't want to install the wrong type of file.
