Good Morning Everyone,
Very nice plant, Alan.
There are numerous shanties scattered around both my layouts. Here are a few on the 12’-by-8’ – completed in 2004. I’ve posted pictures of almost all the structures on both my layouts and there is little else to show…
Alan, thank you for starting and maintaining one of my favorite serial threads.
But c'mon; enough of the studio shots of your work and work area--they are always pristine.
How about a down and dirty photo of a work in progress where the work space is a bit untidy; messy even. No offense intended. Some folks are simply uncommonly neat when they work--but not I.
Alan, great plant and like the picture of your "messy" work area !! Melgar nice little sheds, great weathering.
Great work as usual. Here are a couple pics of the dock area i have been working on for my seatrain lines crane. Also a fixed crane for the dock area of my just started cement factory. Still need to finish out fixed crane rigging and details but my hats off to the clam shell bucket kit that crow river sells, its a great piece.
I have found a new Rustoleum spray color: Chalked Aged Gray.....
My attempt is to try lighter, less weathered look.....I am trying it on the Plasticville Police Station....
I will everyone posted as things develop.....
BTW everyone, fantastic work and pics thus far!!!!!
Awesome stuff guys, really enjoy the freeway scene SIRT
stubbyga the scene is coming along very nicely. Please keep us posted on your progress with the dock scene. I will be starting my harbor in the near future so I will be watching closely.
STUBBYGDA Looking GOOD!!! I agree with your comment about CROW RIVER clam shell bucket kit. They suggested I go with the HO version when I described my project to them. I noticed the 9v battery hook up; is the crane movable? Thought I would throw in an idea I came up with maybe someone might find useful. I mounted my crane on a pill bottle; turning the cap to reposition the crane as desired. Really like your buildings also.
Melgar - kits or scratched built? Either way excellent work!

Awesome work Rich!
Sirt, great work with the LEDs and the signage.
Eric C fantastic modelling and photographic skills on display again.
Rich the EL is awesome. I like the design of the single column supporting the EL.
Great looking scenes....are the buildings scratch or kit built? I especially like this one
I have a mixture of scratch-built and kit structures on the layout.. Most kits are modified to some degree when I build them.
The building you like is an older modified "Stoney Creek Design" kit. Here are in-progress photos of it as I was checking my work:
Just finished up a small stream. The incredible scenes you all post are amazing and inspirational. The hotel was scratch built based on a Hotel in Bamf Canada.
I would like to take a guess and say The Banff Inn. Very nice work on the building and stream.
We made the trip to Banff last year, including a ride on the Rocky Mountaineer.
