I found some suitable locations for my resin printed PA power poles. I have them cruising along the background bluffs in my engine terminal.

At first I tried to build the walls per the instructions. The instructions would have me build the wall as a carpenter would build a house wall.

The wood was thin and the pieces were so tiny they wanted stick to my tweezers more than to each other. In addition no one is going to be able to see inside so the effort would have been for naught. I decided to build the walls my way.

This went much faster and is more rigid then the other way. Below is what I have done so far. The front and one side wall are not yet glued in place. I am still waiting on my Wonder Cutter. In the mean time I can work on the crane way and the base.

I bought this kit about 25 years ago.  I don't even remember if I bought in a hobby shop or mail-order.Although the models are supposed to be trackside maintenance structures the building on the right in the photo on the box had me thinking "garage" to go along with the ceramic houses on my layout.  Here are two that I built when I first got the kit.  I used scrap angles and square tubing to make the corners.  And years later it became obvious that I needed some horizontal bracing.  I should have painted them before assembly but I was never sure which houses were going to get the garages and we moved before they ever made it to the layout.

The label on the box says 3 structures, however due the different types of maintenance sheds shown in the picture on the box enough walls in construct 4 structures were included but only roofs for 3.  A little corrugated cardboard cut to size will suffice for the fourth roof.  The plan for one of the remaining sheds will be a roadside farm stand as can be seen by the accessories.  I don't know when I'll get around to building the last two or painting the first two, but when I do I'll be sur to post them in Sunday Scenic Showcase!

Apparently our benefactors at OGR have kept this model alive in their Ameri-Town structures.

Joe - I wonder if those are old OGR 300 series kits????

I have purchased a couple of these JV kits over the years and have them on my list to stick build when I have LOTS of free time.  Thanks for sharing your experience - I'll save it for down the road when I tackle my own kits.

Joe I believe my kit pre-dates the OGR kits.  It is currently listed under the single story building as No. 503.
