These photos show two trackside shanties at the rear edge of my 12’-by-8’ layout. There is a one-foot space between the table and the wall and no scenery or backdrop so that I can get behind the layout to clean the track. The buildings are meant to conceal the back edge of the table. The larger structure is a narrow-gauge car with trucks removed. Built from kits.

wbg pete,

One reason I think your layout is so excellent is that it has a correct and realistic proportion of track and railroad to the rest of the world (town and mountains). O gauge layouts often have too much track and not enough of everything else. Yours is perfect.

Just completed a 6 unit grain elevator. The customer requested Woodland Scenics Just Plug lights. I have worked with these before. Recently Woodland Scenics changed the design of the linker plug. The old one was gray with push buttons for inserts. The new design is white with rocker arms for inserts. Unfortunately the new design while easier to use kept breaking the thin mag wire. I contacted Woodland Scenics and was told to "strip the wire 3/8"-1/2" from the tip of the wire. Then, fold the bare wire over on itself. If needed, twist the folded wire slightly so it stays in place. This will provide a little more wire for the Linker Plug to grab onto. Then,  insert the folded section into the Splicer Plug." I was able to also gang wires and tinned the ends with solder which helped a lot.
The rep said the fine mag wires are being transitioned out except for N scale and all goose neck / wall mount lights.
