My Sunset/3rd Rail New Haven ALCO PA1 #0771 arrived today. It is a very fine, high-quality model. Aside from everything else, the wheels are jewel-like and exquisite. The interior has an engineer, fireman, and a detailed control stand. Another feature that I really like is that it is not necessary to separate the shell from the chassis to remove or replace the battery, which can be done simply by lifting the roof hatch which is held in place by two small magnets. I plan to test run the model tomorrow. It will look great with my Weaver “American Flyer” lightweight passenger cars.

The NH had the most interesting and attractive "bunch" of diesel paint schemes of any RR, I do believe. I even like the McGinnis scheme, though less than the others. I have an MTH EP-4 NH electric in a version of the scheme of your NH PA's. Very impressive on that loco, too. My favorite NH scheme was what I call the "pinstripe" version.

No connection to the NH or New England (that's an understatement) - I just like 'em.

I ran my Sunset/3rd Rail New Haven ALCO PA1 #0771 to check out operation in conventional mode with smoke off (never use it). The model is beautiful and operated with absolute smoothness at low speeds on its first run pulling two New Haven green passenger cars – a Weaver “American Flyer” car and an MTH heavyweight observation car. The prime mover sounds, especially on startup, are terrific and so are the horns, bell and lighting. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.
