I'm getting a New Haven PA-1 in the original green and gold scheme.

MELGAR

These are PA 2's  with Pharr grills not PA1 there are 1000's of those that have been done.

The only 305s (with the Farr air grills) are SP and MOPAC.  All the others Are 304s.  304s are Phase I and Phase II type Is.  The demonstrators are also Phase II type Is.

They will have dynamic brakes where the unit numbers represented had dynamic brakes.  The SP version will be 305s (phase II type II) not T&NO versions. so they will not have the drip rails but will have the dynamic brakes, plow pilots, wagon wheel antenna and icicle breaker bars.

People who reserved them received the color brochure showing pics Scott would release.  I'm not even allowed to release pics of the Demo which are (IMHO) awesome.  People with no clue complain too much about the colors.  The stainless drip rail on the ATSF version is a very nice touch.

I already paid in full for my demos and I didn't get any brochures!

What "brochures"?

And I have yet to b***h on any color issues with Sunset/Golden Gate Depot! ( Although I was s nag to Scott ear to do the prr FOM scheme on the Heavyweight cars but that didn't happen)

I have no idea what this means.

Please read RDUNNIII post above mine, second paragraph. It sounds like brochures were given out to the people who ordered them

Well I did and already P.I.F. my second invoice but got nothing as of yet.

I wouldn't sweat it too much.  I did the majority of the research and reviews of painting diagrams for this project with the ever helpful input of Mr. Dunn and others.  I didn't get anything either on my order.   I have not even seen the finished pictures!   These will be outstanding though.  That much I know.

Apparently most of us (including me) did not get a brochure.  So what.

I kind of like the idea of seeing the engine for the first time when I remove it from its box.  I have not had the best year of my life, and am looking forward to making up a train of mixed cars for the three big Alcos to pull, and drifting off into the 1950's with them.

Paid for mine months ago.  Was able to see some software images during development and they really looked great.  Plan to run mine with the GGD Harrimans.   UP PAs spent a lot of time in the Kansas division, often with Harriman cars.  Last email conversation I had with them was to confirm as delivered Gray Trucks. I try to model 1945-1955 Silver didn't happen until 1955 and after. They should match the Harrimans nicely.  The only reveal I'm waiting for is the look of the actual pilots.  They're including the fixed 2R pilots with the 3R models.  Since I'm only running AB I'm hoping for a nice clean look.

This nice 1955 photo from The Streamliner shows a B unit with obvious silver trucks and an A unit that appears to still have Gray trucks.

This isn't about your 3rd Rail models. I'm not really a fan of the first gen diesels either. I like how they look but they usually don't pull their weight unless you hook several together. So when MTH came out with their G scale version, I passed for more modern stuff.

More recently, I got a set of the Alco PA's in daylight paint. I thought I could put the shells on display if they were in decent shape. My main objective would be to try the trucks under more modern units. Once again I got bit. The same thing happened to me back when I bought the MTH F series. I like how those look so much I can't gut them. They were supposed to become modern switchers or GPs. I now have several sets. So here I am with another set of first gen diesels that are growing on me.

They will probably be for passenger assignment only out back. Although I prefer modern, I do like the classic looks of the old stuff.

Winter is passing and I haven't gutted them yet. Congrats to you who get them! They do look good.

Tom, prayers sent that 2018 will be a better year for you!

Those SPs are quite handsome Joe - Nice video. All three units powered?

Couldn't help but notice the apparent size difference between the locomotive and the hoppers behind - are the cars larger than 1:32nd?

No, just the A units are powered. The B is a dummy.

The cars right behind are USA 1/29 scale hoppers, etc., in the video. It doesn't bother me much to mix as I don't know how the real ones looked. I will keep them with 1/32 scale passenger cars though. I do have 1/32 freight cars as well. I buy what I like and mix it. I should go all 1/32 scale someday. Darn USA cars keep calling me.

Erik, its super cool. They are painted bloody nose gray and you can see the daylight colors underneath. Somebody was trying to get me to sell one of them, absolute crazy talk I tell you. You'll never see a matched set of PA builders plates ever except on the PAs that are still around.

I'm happy for everyone getting their engines. The set I wanted didn't make the cut, oh well there are worse things in life.

I'm wondering if undecorated units were finally sold to customers.

Repaint Santiago?

if anyone can pull it off, well you know you can do it.

Thanks! The good thing is they did the aspen leaf, so the detailing for the bumblebee would be the same. Just different paint scheme. Aspen never pulled the Expo so, I passed. Dunno if a second run would happen soonish, but yeah if it doesn't make the cut again I'll have to repaint. Do share the pictures and videos when you get them guys. Let's share that brute PA beauty!
