Sunset producing S.P. MM-3 2-6-6-2 #'s 3930 & 3931

Uh Charlie, I'm in Line ahead of you with Scott, as I'm wanting C&O L2a unstreamlined  C&O Hudsons, as well as, the C&O K-3/3a Mikado's with both tenders, then comes the NYC H10a/b/c "Super Mikados".......Just sayin

Maybe so, but this is no childish personal race.  I've been hounding Scott for almost 4 years.  It's about who gets the most orders to make the production a viable profit for the Company!  Doesn't matter how many we want its which one is the most profitable.  Have you sent Scott pictures and detailed specs. for your projects?

Build your own.  These are not difficult projects; the boilers are darn near straight.  Drivers are the big problem - you might check with Stevenson.  And the later 160 C tenders seem to be readily available.

I just checked - my page 176 has only one photo.  Boiler is dead- straight, as in "bar rail". Drivers are 57, so a pair of Stevenson Harriman switcher engines would do.  You would have to make the forward cylinders.

Thanks for the Info.  There is another tender used when the locomotive services the long beach dock and switching service in L.A.  The other engine with the 160 C tender was used in helper service and long haul drags.  If Scott does both I guess I'll just have to buy 2.  Thanks for the info on the drivers, had not thought of Stevenson nice call front cylinder (never made one of those but next, (might as well it would be a good experience.)  Thanks  Charlie 

Bob Church's book has additional photos.  Out of print, of course, is my 12-part series on building the MM-2.  I think I went into detail on how to create cylinders, both high and low pressure.

Let me guess that you would have a better chance at getting Sunset to make these if you could be happy with a repainted USRA 2-6-6-2.  I would put probability of production of these two right below the probability that Ford will do a production run of the 1965 Mustang, something I might like to see.

On the other hand, things like that do happen - new Piper Cubs are rolling out of several US factories.
