I am trying to service my swing bridge.  When its swinging back into normal position, it will sometimes get stuck and a gently nudge will get it moving.  It sounds like a possible split gear.  I am trying to figure out how to get to the gear boxes on the bridge.  I found 4 main bolts near the center of the span.  Not sure if they are the ones to be removed so as to remove the main span from the base to get to the gearing.  There are several panels on the bottom of the bridge.  I tried to remove the one panel underneath the little house on the base but it will not budge after removing the screws.  It seemed like it was still attached.  Has any one taken this apart?  If so, what am I missing?  Thanks

Joe

I figured it out.  The four bolts which go through the center of the span need to be removed.  The nuts are on the bottom and can be removed with a 5/16" box wrench.  The entire span then lifts off but watch out for the wires.  There are 4 wire nuts connecting the wires.  Once removed, the entire span can be set aside and you now have full access to all the gears and motor.
