Happy SWSat guys!

Great Pics So far. I love the Lehigh Valley Concrete train Franktrain. The colors look great and you have to admire a matching train, set up for the company photographer.

I sence a center cab theme so I am adding images of the very distinctive 130 ton GE center cabs made for Fords River Rouge plant. There were 9 made in 1936 and they had distintive chrome grill ends. Some went on to serve on the WA&G and the later pics are from that time.

I'll throw a bone to the steamys and add a nice looking Ford steam switcher. I like the odd spacing on the drivers.image

Happy Switcher Saturday! I am ready to mix it up a little bit. I thought we might get a bit wild, no Pennsylvania Railroad B6 switchers from me this week. How about a Pennsylvania Railroad A5s? The 0-4-0 A5s is the smaller brother/sister of the larger 0-6-0 B6. The only known survivor of the A5s class , #94, can be found at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

Here is my WbB 44T moving some passenger cars in behind the Sharks for a local run.

Not sure what I'm going to do with this neat little guy.  My original intent was to upgrade it with command, but after reading gunrunnerjohn's effort to do this I'm not so sure now.  Probably will sell it, but waiting I'm to see how MTH's 44T looks and runs before I make a final decision.

Hey Tom, I was oh-so-close to taking pics of the K-Line A5s this week but went with the B6 instead!

Very similar (same?) as the last one.  BTW, that link is pretty nice, all about Peckett Locomotives, I can't remember if you've highlighted them yet over the past here on Switcher Saturday.

Cool Rich! I think this one is British. I like the pinstriping. The cab and the buffers (those round things that look like Push Pins) on the front beam are the tells.

Very nice looking. I think ACE or Bassett Lowke may make this engine in 3 rail O scale.

---- Tom, that tall long light color building behind the yards looks like Bronx County PRISON - Detention Center -- which Prison was in the South Bronx I think.    OH NO... I just recall now -- I think that prison-detention center  was on River Avenue around E.157th Street --- just below the IRT Jerome "EL" Line Tunnel Portals at E. 159th Street.  Well, then,  that building behind the yards in those photo must be an ANNEX PRISON, heh -- to the other one.  Sure looks like a prison !!!  (heh, heh, heh)

Switchers at York

As I strolled the halls I took note of switchers for sale, even though I wasn't looking for one. There were a reasonable number of Lionel postwar NW-2's available with more than a few reasonably priced from $75 - $150. On the more modern front I saw 3 or 4 of the Lionel S-2 Legacy switchers for sale in the $350 range. Also several K-Line A5 (?) around $325, which I thought seemed a bit on the high side. 

Switchers are out there, all you have to do is decide which one to bring home!

Great posts again this week, I always enjoy Switcher Saturday. FrankTrain's post of a Lionel 625 44 ton switcher (often criticized as way out of scale) and SilverLake's post of the 130 ton switchers could be interpreted as there truly is a prototype for everything! Now when I look at a Lionel 44 ton switcher I will see a much closer to scale 130 ton switcher. I think I will have to add 1 or 2 of those Lionel switchers to my collection.
