I also saw this nice Pennsy A3 live steam locomotive which was scratchbuilt by Kozo Hiraoka. Some cool stuff including his beautiful (also hand-made) machined drivers.

Yay! SWSat is pulling out with Tom P on the throttle. 

I am posting a bunch of pics I took this summer. Here are a few modern units out on the road in Syracuse NY. This first train has very little switching involved it was a unit train of more than 100 brand new clean covered hoppers. It looked like a train set because  the cars were so clean.

Ten minutes later a stack train going the other way.

Another shot of the damaged ex NYC 0-6-0 in Utica.

Here is an early morning work train working at the end of my street on the Westside line of Manhattan NY. The line is exclusively Amtrak north from Penn Station  it is down this summer to work on the Spyten Dyvel swing bridge.

Another french switcher, a BB 66000 of the french railways. It dates from the 60's and some of them are still in service today,  the model is from RV ZERO.

ok, another project for me I guess,  It's most of a prewar Walthers 0-6-0 Polydrive switcher.....  missing some parts as usual.

Thanks Tom, The really hard part will be finding the two missing plastic center Walthers drive wheels......I think I could figure the rest out..  Or I could cheat and use some other drive wheels....
