It's Switcher Saturday Time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT, you should go take a look, it was lots of fun!

This week (in honor of York, PA) we've got PRR #94 called into short-line freight delivery service, while a nice C&O Passenger "varnish" train gets all the attention on the mainline.

Also a few pictures grabbed from Facebook groups this week and posted below, just for fun.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, have some switcher fun and when you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

All the best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

The SNCF 060 Class C 61000 diesel switcher were built between 1950-1953.. They were used for heavy shunting duties around the harbor of Le Havre.

At the same time the French brand LR offered a shortened 040 model of it. Unfortunately the plastic body always tends to wrap now and finding a perfect one is extremely hard.  Anyway it is a nice little switcher to use on a layout and the only French plastic model in O gauge while Lionel was producing so many nice ones…..

Happy SWSat

Another busy week in the rear view mirror. I've been on a buying streak for a while now. If I don't stop soon I may drown in trains LOL! I just picked up a pair of K-line ALCO's in PRR livery. They need a good servicing and cleaning. The B unit has some paint splatter on the shell that I have to remove. Here's the listing photo, I haven't unpacked them yet.

A few weeks back on Team Track Tuesday, Patrick @trumptrain did a Octoberfest theme. I stumbled across this while surfing the interweb. The Guinness brewery had a narrow gauge railroad that was used at the brewery to move raw materials and finished product. Some really cool stuff here.

Happy Switcher Saturday!!   Spent yesterday at York and am returning as soon as I post this.   Rich - great layout, video and photos!!  Is that a B6 switcher or an O-8- 0 ??  I couldn't see the wheels.  At any rate it all looks great!  At the risk of making a taboo statement here on SWSAT ... I do love that C&O hudson as well!

I did see LOTS of switchers yesterday ... steam, diesel and electric.  Some great prices too.  I may go back and pick up a Williams Brass  Pennsy B6 today in the Blue Hall.  If its not already sold.  There was also a Right of Way B&O Docksider in the Orange Hall for a good price as well.  I decided to pass on it as I already have a MTH ( although the ROW is more well detailed ).

Here is a re-peat for this week, however if I get a new switcher I be sure to post it here later.

Now I'm off to the show!!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Back today from York. I was on the last row in the Blue Hall when I spotted this WM 44-tonner sitting all alone. I picked it up and the seller walks up and knocks $30.00 off his price without me asking. I have been wanting one of these for a while. I kept passing on others hoping to find a WM one. Hopefully, it will be my last WM engine.
