Enjoy your weekend and when you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

You know the rules:

1. if it's related to switchers (model switchers, prototypes, critters, switching yards, switching layouts) - we want to see it! Videos, Pics, Stories (true or fictional), poems, whatever!

2. if you miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

3. keep it friendly - we want this to be fun. (we haven't had any problems with grumpy trolls, I'd like to keep it that way)

All the best...Rich Murnane

Yay! SWSat is in the “On” position.

We are off to a great start this week.

Is that a new C&O unit Rich? Great pictures Mike CT I love that Plow. I hope it gets some stabilization before it is too far gone. Tom P. @PRR8976 always nice to see your prewar collection. How goes the cardboard layout experiment?

@MELGAR GE 44 tonners are among my favorite switchers as well. One unit at the Danbury Railroad Museum was once the only Union Pacific unit and used as the shop switcher and it is the only engine I have ever operated. I have a copy of the WBB model of it here on my shelf.

This week at the NYSME o scale layout we tried starting card style switching operations. We used two different EMDs to assemble the train because the drawn cars were so spread out at Port Jarvis and then used the EL unit to bring the train down to Hoboken.

I couldn’t stay on this project because I am in the middle of a big project that will be reveled at the open house this fall. It will not be the last op session but there were some issues that are to be resolved.

Have a great weekend. I can’t wait to see what you guys post.

Off to a nice start, fella's.

Rich Pic:

There's just something about those little Lionel FA's (both the cast frames and stamped frames) that I find appealing. When I see certain pics of them, they often tug at me in regards to wanting one again. Rich's picture is no exception.

As a scale modeler in HO scale, I full well realize they are not accurate, they are not proportioned correctly, etc, etc, but the look just captures my imagination for some reason.

Some things 'ya just can't explain. But I figure if any group of model railroader's would understand what I'm trying to express, this group would.

Good afternoon fellow SWsat friends! Rich - Got to love switching with an ALCO FA 2!  You and Johann get the interesting and unusual switching locomotive award for switching with carbody units ... and it is prototypical too!   Thanks Rich for keeping the boiler fired up and starting us off each week.

You guys have some really extra interesting photos and videos today!

Today I have a mixture of photos from past posts and some not.  Beginning is a Plymouth switcher ( by K line ) providing mobile power for Big Hooker.   There are several GP 9 photos and some with the B&O SW9 and Patapsco and Back Rivers Baldwin VO1000.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads!!!  Have a great weekend everyone!!
