Hello! Bought this engine second-hand earlier this month. While running, it’ll frequently stall, with the front pair of drivers free-spinning off track power, and the rear pair stopped.

I imagine that the rear set either takes priority somehow, or the front set isn’t strong enough to drag the engine and train on its own. Picking up the engine, replacing it on, and resuming track power fixes the issue temporarily, but it’ll re-stall after a couple laps or so.

While I appreciate the thought out into this prototypical feature, I’d like a more permanent fix. Note that my club layout uses DCS, so I’m running in conventional.

Any tips beyond “send it to a repair center” would be appreciated!

I'm guessing that you haven't opened it up.  I'd pop the hood, remove the rear motor, and check the indicated drive nub.  It's pretty common for these to start slipping on the shaft, they're simply a press fit.  My fix is to clean up both the drive numb and shaft and then re-attach them using Loctite 660 Retaining Compound.
