Hi Folks,

To keep y'all up to date. The Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 and Chicago Great Western 2-10-4s arrive Monday.

We will be busy sorting and shipping Wednesday.  We will cut the UPS tags on Monday and wait 2 days to make sure vacations and addresses are correctly being handled. Models will be shipped UPS ground SIGNATURE REQUIRED...

There are a few unsold models. If you are looking for something very special, we only made 60 2R and 60 3R models on this project so now is your chance.

The Grand Master my friend Bill Basden is getting 2 special ones painted just for him by SSM 3rd rail. 610 in black and 618  in the Gray Green. there were only 13 in 3 rail and 18 in 2 rail.

He was very instrumental  in providing data for the builders during construction. The actual emblem plate use for the FWH front

It has been predicted that the resell market will be high for these models.

I purchased (1) #610 Gray/Green Boiler (3 rail). I can't wait to get it. I so wanted to order a second one and debated it for months. But in the end I didn't. I guess I will regret that continuously! If those extra engines were 3 rail gray/green or black in a different number than 610 I would probably just order. I will have to think about the Freedom Train.

I really do not know why they did not offer 4 different numbers like in the past on other models. I also wanted different numbers in black and Gray Green, these loco.s were used extensively in West Texas tonnage trains during the war. With 110 tank car trains of crud oil double headed.  You can not do that with only one # offered.

It was told to me is that's all people reserved was that # only. It was to late in the process to changes things.

Don't wait to long on the AFT model.

I must admit that if I had 2 grand I didn't need I would be very tempted to order one of the gray/green 2-R locos.

Luckily for me God has seen my spendthrift nature and arranged my retirement finances so as to Lead Me Not Into Temptation...

Yea but without the loco, he can't "Deliver you from Evil" either! Doesn't God help those who help themselves?

Mine just arrived by UPS and all I can say is WOWWWWW!!!!!!!!  This is an excellent example of the model makers art.  Another Home Run for Sunset.  She is currently doing break in running at the head of a long string of stock cars, but come this weekend I will be breaking out the AFT cars to have some fun.

Scott;

If what has been written about the low production numbers of the AFT 610 all I can say is thank you from the bottom of my train loving heart!  Without you, I don't think I would ever have had the opportunity to own this locomotive.  It is now the centerpiece of my AFT collection.

My Southern 610 (3R) arrived Friday, and no I didn't leave work early.

To Scott Mann - YOU HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!

Gorgeous engine, makes me wish I had ordered a T&P version too, but my Southern 610 will do quite nicely.

This engine has to rank among the top, if not at the top of all my engines.

GREAT JOB.

If you have any photos of Southern 610 to share, I would like to see them.  Thanks.
