Hey Everyone,
This tease is a blast from the past. Can anyone guess the year, without Googling?
Thank you,

June 2nd - Coronation of Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey, London
Well it is a long time ago, I should know being born in 1953
Eisenhower sworn into office - January 20
Salk announces polio vaccine - March 23
Queen Elizabeth crowned - June 2
The year is 1953. The car is a commemorative boxcar wherein Jonas Salk has President Eisenhower give the queen a vaccine! What did I win?
'53 for the first 2, '55 for the vaccine?

No Google, but I did use my "The Year You Were Born" reference book.
Of course, Ike was sworn in twice ('53 and '57). But the other pics tell the tale. 1953.
JAN 1953
Maybe I know where you are going. Menards is making box cars to commemorate the end of the Korean war 1953?
1952..............final guess...............Paul 2
I changed my mind. I forgot the swearing in was the next year so 1953 this is my final answer...........Paul 2
Jonas Salk gave his family the polio vaccine in 1953, but the massive polio vaccine trial didn't start until April 1954.
So, maybe 1953 is the correct answer, but I was hoping for 1952 (KFC founded in September) or 1955 (McDonald founded in April). As you can see, I was hoping for a another fast food building.
President Eisenhower was sworn in ( 1953 ? )and found out that Aliens was visiting the earth.
So another outer space item from Menards like the flying saucer is on tap to be released?
I believe!!
Dave
I like it when you just announce your new products without the games.
The new Menards product is a vaccine to prevent and cure the hand gestures shown next to the Menards Biologist.
bmoran4 posted:1953 was the introduction of these:
They never had 40’ trailers in 1953 longest were 35’ due to bridge laws in certain states the only first Rail to use 40’ trailers was the Pennsylvania that was very early 60s
Just maybe 50's era black single dome oil tankers with major oil company logos of the time.
SP did put 35' trailers on flatcars.
I think I figured it out. It has to be an Acela with operating catenary arms and doors that open and close. Oh, tilting cars would be nice on the passenger cars.
How was that? You did not think anyone would guess. When can we preorder? Have you thought about a Turbotrain? I think people like those also.
Ok Its a GG1 crashed into a Union Station
The F9 started being made in early 1953 I believe........
They are making a GG1...Ha!
1953 Inauguration of president Eisenhower, Coronation of Queen Elisabeth, and the discovery of the Salk Vaccine.

Yes they did but the 40’ trailer wasn’t around until 1958 that pic is two 40s on a 85’ piggy car
OK I give up What is it
Or, at least, another hint
It's great!!!
A4 British steamer?
Well I cheated and did some googling...
We all know Menards is headquartered in Eau Claire, WI. Well, across the state in Green Bay is The National Railway Museum which is home to a Class A4 British steamer named after WWII Army General Eisenhower, before he became president - Per Wikipedia.
This is ties to the Eisenhower and the Queen pictures. But I’m not sure how the polio vaccine relates to my theory...I would be shocked if Menards released a steam engine and that the first one would be a British one, even though A4s are pretty amazing machines.
I’m going to guess McDonald’s starting 1955.
My guess since all pics point to 1953, and blast from the past. It will be a flat car with Corvettes. Since it was 1953 that the Corvette was introduced.
Good news, we've locked down the release date of Thursday, 10/17!
The first tease was a little vague, I think I can afford to give you another hint without giving it away completely!
Thank you,
