For any TCA member who missed the email that went out, this is the O27 offering for 2016.  It's a "Made in the USA" 027 style boxcar.  Since the convention is in Texas, this car honors a long time local railroad.  Yes, the scheme is not prototypical, but it is certainly reminiscent of the brightly colored MPC cars that are coming back into favor these days.

Just wanted to show this one off.

The car is actually made in the USA.  It is currently the only car that Lionel makes in the United States.

Out of curiosity, what would be your suggestions for a better looking car?  There is always a balance between the local roads in the host Division for the convention and national interests.  The committee is always open to suggestions and next year's convention will be held in Pittsburgh.

A new O Scale Texas-Mexican Railway train set that the people at Lionel can have made in China:

TM GP35 diesel-electric locomotive

TM modern 50' boxcar

TM PS-5 gondola

TM MOW 8,000 gallon tank car

TM bay-window caboose

There can be a T-M 89' flat car with an old passenger car as a load, using the 89' flat car for the Auto Racks.

The proposed tri-color TM scheme is prototypical for a caboose. It is an attractive scheme and works on a boxcar as well, even if not quite prototypical.

I plan to order one.

Stumbled across this thread just today.  May have had grandchildren underfoot (a blessing, indeed!) in July.  Anyway, TCA issued a K-Line boxcar (649117IC) in the livery pictured in Boomer's post for the 1996 Dallas convention.  Twenty years later, same state, same railroad, different livery.
