Has anyone purchased one of the convention cars TCA is offering ? When I received the email, the other day, I saw the box car decorated for the Navy Seabees. It took me about five seconds to make up my mind and put out the $85.00. I'm looking forward to receiving it.

Unless I read the fine print incorrectly, we may have to wait until the second half of 2018 before we receive our cars. My credit card was charged however. Most retailers won't charge your credit card until the item ships.
Dan, unfortunately most of the clubs work the same way -- namely you pay when you submit your pre-order. But I have faith in all these clubs that they'll come through.
Having said that, this MO is more of the exception than the rule for me. As I'm not about to pay for regular catalog pre-orders. That's a big no-no.

Most clubs likely need the money up front to support the order with the importer/manufacturer.
I have no problem with this for any club that's been around for a while, but like Dave, I never pay up front for any regular items (not even a deposit since I have a good relationship with my dealer) from the regular catalogs.
