Hopefully the convention goes smoothly, and the weather cooperates.

Friends have a modular trailer there to run trains on.

At the convention yesterday and today. The vast majority of attendees are wearing masks. A handful aren’t. At the train show today, announcements were made over the P.A. System to mask up and try to social distance as much as possible (which is pretty difficult at a swap meet). Still, the aisles were wide and not crowded today. I had a great time, btw. The Western Div. guys are working their butts off to make this a success under very tough circumstances.

i picked up this very nice poster/print at the registration desk. Folks could not have been friendlier or more accommodating.

I don’t think restrictions are impeding anything. Masks are required but that’s about it. Very pleasant atmosphere.

The light turnout makes social distancing easy. We all have kept masks on, and I personally have felt very comfortable and safe. I fear this may be the new normal for some time, but they have done a fantastic job putting on a great convention! Many great layouts to see for anyone local and I believe the public can pay to get in tomorrow.

TCA Convention Tour of Knott’s Berry Farm locomotive maintenance facility. Rehap of a 2-8-0 3 ft. narrow gauge steamer and ex-D&RGS “Galloping Goose” in the shed. Rio Grande 2-8-0 earning her keep circling the amusement park. Also,  1881 vintage private coaches used by president of the road.

Thanks from myself and the other team members who did much more than me. It has been a trying effort.

Display theme for he convention was West Coast Manufacturers. Some were from companies you’ve heard of, some were people who only made a few one offs. Overall an amazing array of tin.
