Does anyone have any information as to what seems like the sudden retirement of John Luppino the TCA Operations Manager? They sent out an email blast on Feb 18. All I have been able to find out is that it SEEMS like there was no plan in place to replace him. Thus my feeling that it was sudden. Some of his duties are crucial to the organization.

REALLY? So if the job is Soooooo Important, why haven't the powers to be running around like chickens with there heads cut off? Might be they are trying to figure out how much to raise dues to afford another?
I understand the job is posted on craigs list. Salary of $50-85K per year with full benefits. Not too shabby to run an organzation that helps people play with trains :-) Too bad I don't live closer to Strasburg or my application would already be in.
No reason I can think of to scramble around to find someone to fill the position. They just need to find the right person, and that might, quite understandably, take a bit of time. Most organizations are structured to deal with such situations--or at least should be--so the loss of any one individual does not pose a significant crisis. I've yet to see an organization that could not function with the loss of one person, even the one at the top. Nobody I've ever met or known about is indispensable and/or irreplaceable. They (TCA) will be just fine.
