RJR, every Menards stock some train stuff year round, its just put up on there second level where they store some of there seasonal stuff! I found out the hard way and Mark helped out very fast.

I went to see my in-laws in North Dakota and from Washington State that is the closest Menards. I went there and one employee told me they put them away for storage, Needless to say I was a little PO'ed cause the store inventory said it was in stock.  I made a comment on here and Mark seen it. Low and behold the train stuff was out where it was spose to be kept off season and I was able to get some rail cars, and a few buildings!

Mark and Menards really take care of there train people along with all there other customers!

We have to talk. I keep hoping for industrial buildings, modular steel mills, factories and waterfronts...and we get Rodentia inebriata. Oy.

Biggest rats I've ever seen can be found in these very types areas...Ya never know

It could be a detergent factory....or a soap house.

Semi-useless fact, industrial rendering for soap tallow is one of the more "pungent" odors on earth;"hot decay soup".

It's smell attracts plenty of wildlife, rats, squirrel, to ferel cats and occasionally dogs...who do get in to lick at fats sometimes. They also fall into cook vats on occasion and dissolved unoticed, making soap in early vs wrecking if a filtered batch.

Smells carry for miles sometimes. Empoyees, the stench permeates everything, needing special chemical detergents and boiling water to remove the stench from equipment, cloths, and near that on your person. Fish mongers & waste management have it made. . Think twice before you build homes, inn, or food too close . 😤 😨 🤢😯😝🤧😷

Hey, that all seems metaphorically and/or procedurally kinda parallel to production or use or consumtion of sumpthin' familiar... 🤔

....ah... of course..beer & brewerys 😆

Mike, I actually just made my first "upstairs" train purchase yesterday!! I just kind of "stumbled" (that's my brewery pun!) upon that myself. Great to know it can be accessed all year 'round.

Rob, I agree, plus its even better when you stumble upon them! LOL

Well dad, neither can I. I can only hope that someday I will get the teaser right instead of wishful thinking. Speaking of wishful I see they are offering the lighted truck again free with a 19.99 order. I sure wish they would make those trucks unlighted. I would buy a ton of them. I even would see if I could shorten the chasis to make it a semi cab for a trailer.......... By the way dad I got my hotel reservations in for the Menards show in July. Staying at the Baymont this time. Hope to catch you there. Also make the other sons a little jealous LOL..................Paul

Have a cold one: The O gauge Sprecher Brewery from Menards

The basics: The Sprecher brewery is a compact, multi-story industrial building measuring 9-1/2 inches wide, 11 inches deep, and 13-1/2 inches tall. The model has interior and exterior LED lighting and a multi-colored Sprecher electronic sign with a sequential lighting pattern. The loading dock features three workers, hand-trucks, beer kegs, and beer cases.

For illumination, the factory requires a Menards 4.5 volt power supply, Menards SKU# 279-4061, 279-4062, or 279-4050. You may wish to consider the 8- or 9-piece Plug & Play accessory kits (SKU# 279-4035, 4681) and to serve multiple structures and vehicles. All are available separately.

Why you need this: Wisconsin knows beer, and for many decades, Milwaukee staked its claim as America’s beer capitol. Randy Sprecher began his journey in small batch brewing in California in the 1970s. He was hired by Pabst to become Supervisor of Brewing Operations at the Pabst complex in Milwaukee. In 1984 when he was downsized, he struck out on his own and established his own beer brand.

He leased a three story industrial building in Milwaukee, and later built a brewery of his own in 1993. The family of Sprecher beverages has expanded to include regular and seasonal beers, hard sodas, ciders, and nine types of regular and seasonal soft drinks. The brewery has become a tourist destination.

The model is a compact four-story design, with a shipping dock and office door on the first floor, large industrial-style windows on the upper floors. The gem is a dazzling Sprecher logo that combines colors with a design evoking the firm’s German brewing heritage.

The paint is a sedated gray and tan color scheme.

The first floor loading dock has three workers, three beer kegs, three beer cases, and Jack, who is making sure the employees don’t take all of the free samples! The roof of the second floor has three large pipes running up and into the third level, just behind the sign. The roof of the third level has a raised edge, giving it a classic architectural look. You’ll also find HVAC equipment, and a water tank with a flashing red LED. The roof of the fourth floor is flat and calls out for personalization with workers or signage.

The back of the building has a brick wall and includes the innovative "tunnel insert" that can be removed for a train to run through.

O gauge hobbyists have been calling for a brewery and Menards has delivered one. The building has personality, and it carries with it a story affirming that you can still think up a great idea, and create and sell a quality product. Whether or it’s lager or cherry soda is up to you. Make room on your layout for this one!

"I'm totally underwhelmed.  After waiting all this time this is the best Menards could come up with?"

I have to applaud Menard's for the additions they have contributed to this hobby in the way of rolling stock and buildings.   With that said, I know you can't please everyone with each new release and I wish them the best with this offering but I will pass this on this round.

Great job Mark!  I give you credit for designing a brewery that can fit into many eras in order to appeal to most everyone.

I wasn’t in the market for a brewery and I’m out of space, but it looks so great that I’m going to buy one anyway.  I can put it on my desk next to my Menard’s parking garage until I can figure out how to reconfigure everything.

Keep up the good work and thanks for all of Menards’ contributions to the hobby.

Atlas WAS making only models of legit reefers...was there a legit Sprecher beer reefer?  No fantasy cars desired.

Atlas Sprecher, 6735, custom for Walthers.

Yes there was, but nothing wrong with fantasy cars regardless — especially for those who enjoy living in Menardsville, where flying saucers steal cows and the fun of toy trains continues on three rails.

I knew this was going to happen.  There are so many different ways to make a brewery and I knew it wouldn't please everyone.  Just look at all the different styles of breweries across the Department 56 and Lemax lines.  However, don't put it past Menards to make another brewery just like they've made multiple train stations, barns, etc.  I wouldn't be surprised if they made a brewery tap house with tables, etc like are so popular today.

Hi Steve,

Just an FYI, you can order this as a resident of California. Our new buildings coming online are being labeled and certified to comply with California's unique laws.

Thank you,
Mark the Menards Train Guy

Mike very nice tank farm.

Mark, thanks for listening.  I'm not from the mid-west so I'm unfamiliar with Sprechers.  The brewery is nice, I  would like it more generic, I would hate to have to lose the sign.

Thanks Coach!

I also think its a great building and I know one day it will look great on my layout!

Good to hear - I can order again - our laws are not unique - they are created & become law by "good ball liberals".

I'm going to have to order this one.  Big fan of their Special Amber beer.  On the tour they explain that they got into sodas to fill the Friday schedule.  It takes 2 days to make beer leaving Friday open.  Therefore they make delicious sodas as well, using much of the same equipment.  All of the sodas have what I would call a boosted flavor punch above the norm by national brands.

I tried to order a tank car and the website STILL will not ship to California. Can you please fix this?
